When you Walk with Wildsmith, you step into our unique story that began with English heritage, craftsmanship and traditional design back in 1847 but has been reinvented for the modern era with a contemporary twist. We look to express our history and where our journey will take us next by engaging with individuals who embody that same Wildsmith spirit.
We catch up with Anton Welcome, a passionate fashion, lifestyle and portrait photographer from the UK, who is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. A Pitti Uomo regular and a lover of quality shoes, Anton has become a fan of the Model 91 Derby shoes
What are your favourite things about Florence’s Pitti Uomo and why do you keep coming back?
Pitti is a fashion tradeshow that sees some of the best in menswear talk the art of their craft, as well as a golden opportunity to see your comrades from all over the world. It’s a great disconnect, to actually reconnect with everyone.
What are your favourite things about Florence?
Art, food, culture, city aesthetics and the people. It’s my favourite city in Italy.
What do you do for work?
Bit of photography and digital marketing when I’m not taking snaps.

What inspired you to become a photographer?
It’s a long story, but years of travelling to Hong Kong was where it began and I bought my first ever camera.
What else makes you tick?
When I’m not looking at edits or a forecast document, I’m running long distances or riding my motorbikes.
Has fashion always been important to you?
I’ve worked in the fashion industry for over a decade, from an e-commerce perspective and took that passion to our site: maketh-the-man.com
Describe your style?
I try to be consistent with my style. I’m a big fan of the ‘chill formal’ version of me. Double-breasted blazers, shirts and ties with a good pair of jeans, or wide leg tailored trousers with a good t-shirt or light sweater.
What do you look for in your footwear?
Style, comfort and quality. The style is key as it has to go with the looks I build. And quality because, good shoes should last a lifetime.

What are your Wildsmith favourites?
Model 91s! They were a pleasant surprise. Not my usual style historically but were recommended to me and have loved them since.
