Wildsmith have achieved recognised international carbon neutral status

We are proud to have achieved the Carbon Neutral International Standard while also participating in the UN Climate Neutral Now initiative to reinforce our commitment to the environment.

The Carbon Neutral International Standard sees businesses measure, reduce and offset their carbon footprints with the guidance and a grant from One Carbon World.

Climate Neutral Now is an initiative that was launched at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, aimed at encouraging and supporting all levels of society to take action to achieve a climate neutral world by the middle of this century. We are now an active player supporting forest plantations on degraded grasslands under extensive grazing in South America.

We only make our footwear from the finest quality materials to ensure they last by sourcing from Leather Working Group tanneries and other materials from sustainable or organic sources.

We started using 100 per cent recycled cardboard for our shipping containers in 2016 and from February 2020, we stepped up the rest of our sustainability policy to offset our carbon footprint.

We endeavour to use only recycled or sustainable materials in our packaging.

• Our boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard
• Our tissue paper is made from 70% recycled paper
• Our shoe bags are made from 100% natural cotton
• Our shipping cartons are made from 75% recycled cardboard

In addition we only use recyclable plastic when necessary and have PV panels on our warehouse roof to offset electricity usage. We are very proud to have achieved this standard and will continue working towards a more sustainable future.

Shipments have been offset with payments towards green energy initiatives.
